Thank you all for reading my blog. I appreciate each and everyone of you. For the last two years this blog has been my nest of curiosity, ranting, divulging, raving, and bringing in some form of journalistic integrity (SMILES). I can’t devote anymore time to this blog and am ending it today. I will be writing special reports, articles, essays that I will be emailing out to people on my mailing list. Aside from that I will also see about getting some guest writing spots on other blogger’s pages.

she gathered her clothes from my bedroom floor.

the aroma in my room was musky, but fulfilling.

it was the smell of a rendezvous that neither of us anticipated.

her sweet cherry lips up against mine, my hands picnicking on her back, drawing lines of pink.

i was ecstasy to her. and she was certainly something i’ve never tried before.

we didn’t like each other, however; this was curiosity penetrating my soul and something physical penetrating hers.

after it came to its conclusion. ten minutes to the hour –

she hurriedly began to put on her blouse, her thermals followed, and then her jeans.

“it’s not cold anymore,” she whispered at me smiling.

for the past two hours it was the evaporated heat of our bodies controlling the temperature.

“you liked it?” she giggled.

i said nothing.

after her pearl-colored body was draped, she laid with me once more – her clothed body and mine in the nude caressing each other one last time.

“thank you,” she kissed me . and abstractedly, just as the guy she was trying to get over did to her, she left.

at least i got to try it.

it was ok.

Live in the Moment: Say Goodbye to 2008

2008 has been a great year – I’m older, wiser, and a lot more optimistic. This year I ventured out of my space and had growth. I was emotionally inflicted with heartbreak, got rid of wasteful people, learned how to forgive and master selflessness. At this point of the year we reflect on things that make us happy and the things that has caused us grief. Often the grief and tragedy that derail us outweigh the good moments we were fortunate to endure. During the unfortunate moments we forget the most valuable thing every human possesses: our ability to move on. At times we are stuck on emotion and events that dramatically hinder our perception of things or makes us question our purpose, that we lose focus on the future. We often put too much attention on what has been instead of what can be. A part of our responsibility as citizens of this universe is to absorb the moments we live in and question them – ask yourself, what is this here to teach me? What can I learn from it? Then, when you have found the answer, you move on.

It’s cliché to say that everything happens for a reason, that some how the universe and the events in our lives will eventually make sense. I don’t believe that this is true. I don’t believe the universe causes us harm, inflicts pain on us, and at time takes us through direction-less paths. Life is situational and not predetermined, therefore we must create our own rules, make difficult choices and learn how to live with the consequences. To believe that our life’s path is already set for us is an argument I do not find convincing. If there’s anything more that this year has taught me is that we must live in the moment with the intention of moving towards a greater future. Of course there will be challenges, obstacles, and setbacks ahead of you, but welcome them. Welcome them just as you welcome the things that elate you. Because every moment – whether unfortunate or fortunate – is one that is meant to teach us something.

So for 2009 make it your business to learn something.

I was catching up with a guy that I use to date a few months ago, he’s in the ballroom scene and walks pretty boy. I have really been trying to lose connection with him for the longest, because he’s someone whose just adding a lot of stress to my life. I keep in contact because there’s a shortage of love and people who care about him. I wanted to be some sort of support for him. When we were on the phone he randomly brought up the topic of another guy I use to date in the ballroom scene and how the guy is a 2, he’s an 8, and I’m a 5 on a scale of 1-10 based on attractiveness. The judgment would have been fine had he not said it so condescendingly. As if he’s above me because he looks better, dresses better, walks balls and wins trophies. That’s all good and dandy, but you’re still stupid. See, I can be condescending too.

I hung up the phone on him so quick I’m sure his head spun. Growing up I had severe low self esteem and insecurities, I refuse to go back to that place again. I’m at the age where I’m comfortable with my looks and see my imperfections as beauty marks and not flaws.

Needless to say I’m not talking to him anymore. He lost an ally and a friend. The shallowness of some people. I don’t care how unattractive I am, I’m still intelligent.
