Clay this is some bs. Miss Patrik Ian knows you would rather have interview…and access to STARS than report FACTS. No shade but it is very funny that Patrik and Logo are sending interviews and tidbits to CLAY CANE and DARION and QUEER KID OF COLOR. Not Rod 2.0. Y’all have cute little blogs and stuff and Clay writes for HX but the difference is night and day.”

quote of the day

October 26, 2008 at 9:25 pm (Uncategorized)

“I was entertaining a chick wit a dick. Does that count as a female? She looks fine as brown gravy and could pass for a female too! I mean, she fooled me! After the date, she told me there was something important I should know. I had her in my car and she just grabbed my hand. She held it for a minute. Silence. She moved it and placed it on her dick and I was done! It was all over. I took a trannie out on a date and liked it!”

who the hell does baron. think he is?

October 25, 2008 at 6:03 pm (Uncategorized)

before i inserted the new baron. CD celebrity into my drive, i promised myself to give baron. an unbiased review. nevermind the fact that his song “feels like fashion” is the theme song for the christopher street the series’ trailer (a series I’m producing) or that he’s beloved and in serious demand at events. or that his fans and supporters are powerful enough to break me – nope that’s not enough to have me not hate his new cd. before writing this, i calmly said to myself, “steven if you hate the CD, you have to say it. if there’s something you dislike, you must write about it.” truth be told i’ve seen baron. perform two years ago in person at a queer black cinema benefit and though i loved what i saw, charisma and sound with musical artists changes overtime. however, baron. is as charismatic and musically sound today as he was two years ago – and what a relief that is.

the most uncanning and perhaps unusually good thing about baron.’s CD is its inconsistency. baron. intertwines hip-hop, electro, funk, and house to make a mundane dish of unforgettable music that only socially conscious artists could deliver. his sophomore cd has a refreshing rhythm that is new to ear drums and echoes the sort of sound that music lovers have been hungering for. but who the hell does baron. think he is? how dare he challenge hip-hop’s ugly façade, and try to then change it by bluntly seducing it with electro and funk to produce something even hotter. i’ll tell you who baron is – he’s an understatement. he walks around humbly calling his cd celebrity knowing as well as we do that he’s more than a celebrity; he’s an icon slowly trend setting the allure of music as we’ve come to know it.

mini-thoughts: why silly queens need to stop hating on my conservatism & don’t vote with identity politics

why silly queens need to stop hating on my conservatism

There exists some spiteful gays out there who can’t understand politics if it curb them in the ass. However, they take the time to try to debate and engage in conversation and choose to call me defensive when I can articulate my conservative views and cite my sources. You queers need to stop. If you cannot frame a cohesive argument, and mold a thought to save your life, please don’t bother emailing me about how destructive my political thoughts are – this blog is a fraction of my life and you don’t know me personally.  Clearly, people have been trying to get into discussions with me about the political process and it’s annoying when you can attack but can’t counter my arguments.

don’t vote with identity politics

I am not a fan of identity politics. I do not shout for marriage equality and I cannot support Affirmative Action when quotas exist. When I vote I’m not looking at the track record of Barack Obama or John McCain in the People of Color communities, because both of them claim to be post-racial. And I will not be assessing their views on their support of the gays, because neither supports same-sex marriage. I do not vote with my gender and religion in mind because I do not support patriarchal bias and I do not practice religion (Mom, don’t hate me for the latter!). I get annoyed when people tell me they are voting for Obama because he’s Black, because he talks well, or because Oprah loves him (I’m serious!). I hate when people tell me they will not vote for McCain because he’s old (seriously folks lets not be ageist), or because he’s an extension of Bush’s plans. I don’t know whom I’m voting for. The truth is it won’t matter either – Obama will collect the New York electoral votes. Yet still, I cannot let the beatings that Blacks have endure for my right to vote. I’m going to vote critically. I plead with you all to do the same. Fuck polls. Fuck headlines. Fuck what your friends and family members think. Study the policies. Study the issues. Vote with KNOWLEDGE!
