Noah’s Arc film another Sex and the City?
Doesn’t the synopsis of Noah’s Arc: Jumping the Broom sound alot like Sex and the City the movie?Like, seriously -
From Insidesocal:
When Noah (Stephens), a young screenwriter from Los Angeles, agrees to marry his partner Wade (Atwood) in a small ceremony on Martha’s Vineyard, he invites his three closest friends, Alex (Chester), Ricky (Vincent) and Chance (Spearman) to travel cross-country with them for a weekend of revelry. What he gets instead is a weekend of revelations where secrets and lies are exposed, hearts are challenged and friendships are turned upside down.”
In any case, at a recent screening here in NYC, the audience rated the film in the high 90s. And a whopping 98% of the audience said they would recommend the movie to a friend.
The film is due October 24th in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Detroit, and DC.
Bloods Members Charged With Killing Gang Member They Thought Was Gay
OMG THIS IS CRAZY! From The Advocate newsmagazine
—-
Two members of the Bloods gang in Baltimore have been charged with murdering a fellow gang member whom the suspects believed was gay, the Associated Press is reporting.
Steven Hollis, 18 of Randallstown and Juan Flythe, 17, of West Baltimore were arrested Thursday and charged with the May stabbing of 18-year-old Steven Parrish from Randallstown.
The AP reports that court documents show the defendants believed Parrish was gay because of text messages they found on the victim’s cell phone. Documents say the suspects were worried that having a gay member would make the gang appear weak.
Hollis and Flythe are being held without bail. (The Advocate)

Glamorizing HIV?
I work at the magazine publisher, Smart and Strong Publications. One of the magazines published here is POZ Magazine, an HIV/AIDS editorial. Just yesterday we received the magazines from printing. The gay pansexual art intern grabbed himself a copy of the magazine, sat at his desk and began to flip through the pages of the magazine. Upon looking through the mag he stumbled on an ad for Isentress, an HIV/AIDS drug. What made his mouth water and jaw drop was the eye-stimulating picture of the model on the ad. She is a tall, stunning, and beautifully physique model. The art intern got everyone at the office into frenzy, and couldn’t stop praising her. Not to mention, he was annoying the hell out of me asking for my opinion on her. Then after questioning her identity to several of the staffers here (as if we would know) he proceeded to look on the website to see if he can locate other images of her. There were. While he was comparing the lady in print with the lady on the site he noticed she was a lot thicker, shorter, and less glamorized on the web pages. Take a look for yourself.
Which raises the question: is this glamorizing HIV? Or rather, is this just another way to appeal to HIV-positive consumers?
“He wanted to show me exotic places”
“He wanted to show me exotic places” reads the ad below. The Black man is clearly leading the white man to an exotic place–but where the hell are they going, Hawaii?
A schoolmate of mines posted the ad and denounced it on his facebook. I honestly don’t see the big deal here. But what do you think? Racial or not? Give me some clarity please.
